General Information

Our ET program is centered on combining genetics we feel will work in real world conditions. We have selected donors that have proven themselves by their own production records. We have tried to match the genetics of the donor to a variety of structurally sound  sires, that will result in offspring that are useful to the entire beef industry. Many of the lots in this sale offer outcross genetics to the breed.

All our donors are registered in the Canadian and American Shorthorn Association or are in the process of being dual registered in both countries.

Embryo Quality

All our embryos are grade 1 quality and all are exportable to most countries in the world. We have sold embryos to 6 countries in recent years, so we ensure that all the embryo we collect from our donors are exportable.

Terms of Sale

The sale is conducted in Canadian dollars. At the present time, the Canadian  dollar is approximately 10% below the value of the US dollar. In order to clear up any misunderstandings on how the exchange rate works between Canadian and US dollars, we ask you to work through the following example that has been provided by our bank :

For each $1000 bid in Canadian funds, if the exchange rate is 10%, the cost in US funds will be $909.09. The method of calculating is as follows:

Amount bid in Canadian dollars           =  Amount in US dollars.

1.0   plus the exchange rate

For any international buyers outside of North America, we will use the conversion formula provided by our bank.

Pregnancy guarantee

We offer one of the best guarantees in the business. We will guarantee the buyer, of any embryos in this sale , that they will have a minimum pregnancy rate of 50% at 70 days following implantation, provided that an experienced embryo technician is used and normally accepted management is provided.  This is the reason we have listed all the lots in groups of two or four.

In the event that the buyer does not get the 50% guarantee, we will provide embryo/s until the 50% pregnancy rate is achieved. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide the exact same genetic combination in the replacement embryo/s, however, we will work with you to reach an acceptable alternative.

We will only guarantee a 50% pregnancy rate on the total number of embryos you purchase. For example, if you purchase 8 embryos from 2 lots of two and 1 lot of four, we will guarantee that you get a minimum pregnancy rate of 4, on the total 8 embryos purchased, and not 50% on each lot purchased. In order for this guarantee to be valid, the buyer must implant the purchased embryos before September 15, 2010.

Shipping

Our embryos are all stored at Davis-Rairdan Embryo Transplants Ltd., Crossfield, AB.  Davis-Rairdan are an internationally renown ET facility and have worked around the world in embryo transplant. They also work very closely with the major A.I. studs and other ET facilities, in arranging export shipping. Shipping embryos along with a shipment of semen and/or embryos between the major bull studs can be very cost effective. Davis- Rairdan also have regular shipments of embryos to many other countries. We will work with all our buyers to arrange shipping in a quick and cost effective manner.

Lot splitting and /or purchase of additional embryos

We have had some inquiries from people who are interested in purchased a smaller number of embryos than what is listed in the sale lot. These people have indicated their interest in purchasing embryos from different genetic combinations. Here is what we will offer you in this regard:

This offer affects lots of 4 and is only in effect if the buyer purchases more than one lot of embryos. If the buyer only purchases one lot of four embryos, they must purchase all four in the lot.

In embryo lots where 4 embryos are purchased, we will allow the buyer to purchase only two embryos from this lot, however, a $100 penalty per embryo will be added to the purchase price of the two embryos. For example, if a buyer purchases a lot of four embryos at $500 each (total of $2000), they could take 2 embryos at $1200 rather than all four.

Volume discounts - In several cases, we have additional embryos in inventory from the same flushes as those listed in the sale. Buyers will be able to select more embryos at the same price as the sale lots they purchased, and volume discounts will apply, starting at 6 or more embryos. No embryos in our inventory will be sold within 6 months after the sale is over, for less than the price they achieved in the sale.
