We have been looking for a red, polled low birth weight bull that still had good performance for some time, and we think we found him in Hillside Leader. We purchased possession and half semen rights from the Bales family, Morristown, TN. They report a great set of calves on the ground with all them being born unassisted at birth, and they are growing very well. Our first calves arrived in 2011 and we have been very happy with how they have developed. He was used on our heifers and only 1 malpresentation required assistance at birth. So far all calves have been polled . Waukaru Farms Inc, Renssalaer, IN have purchased an in herd interest in Hillside Leader after seeing his calves.
Unfortunately we lost Leader late in 2010, but we have a good semen inventory to use into the future. We have semen available in Canada, USA and Australia. Contact us for details.
